Exhibit approach and interpretive planning
When responding to tenders or working on any new project I always start by considering the audience. Who is being targeted and what are their needs and expectations? I enjoy then generating ideas for the best ways to interpret the content in the most relevant and engaging ways for them. I also have a wide knowledge of entertainment technologies and manufacturing techniques. I have been involved in a number of master-planning projects where I have been responsible for developing and writing an exhibit approach and contributing ideas to the overall interpretation strategy. I have been working for some time on an exhibit database: collecting inspiration in Evernote and Pinterest and gathering exhibit catalogues and prices from suppliers to speed up and inform proposals.

Mishkat Centre for Atomic and Renewable Energy - King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I was responsible for the planning, development and build of all of the hands on and a number of the digital exhibits. Working in partnership with National Talents, KCA London led the masterplanning, design, content development and operations of this exciting new destination. The centre was designed and developed in just nine months. Mishkat opened in 2011 and now welcomes 40,000 visitors annually.

Masterplanning the new Misk Museum - for the Misk Foundation, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. KCA London were commissioned by Misk to develop the strategic plan and early business plan for a new landmark science and technology museum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I was responsible for visioning, developing and writing the exhibit approach. Part natural history museum, part living biomes and part science discovery centre, the museum has three main themes, 'Our World', 'Our Selves' and 'Our Inventions'. Visitors can explore these themes through a series of real living landscapes as well as immersive digital spaces.

Great Adventure – Jiangxi Science and Technology Museum Jiangxi, China. KCA London were commissioned to provide the masterplan and conceptual design for the ‘Great Adventure’, the children’s galleries for this exciting new museum. I helped develop exhibit and experience proposals for five interconnected themed 'lands' that children will explore and interact with. The gallery will be split into: StreetLand, StoryLand, MiniLand, FutureLand and HealthLand as well as theatres and distinct workshop areas.

Esploranatura - Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST), Kalkara, Malta. After working with MCST on the early planning of the Esplora science centre, KCA London were asked to masterplan the expansion of the site to include a new natural history museum and gardens. Our ambition is that the museum will have a unique sense of place, celebrating the ecology of Malta but also seeing how it fits with the rest of our planet. The traditional natural history museum tends to objectify nature and hold it at arms length. Seeing humans as disconnected from nature and superior to non-humans. I wanted to challenge this, break down barriers and build an emotional connection with the exhibits.
